Performance training

Performance has always been an important part of capoeira. Its combination of acrobatics, dance, gymnastics, music and martial arts makes it a very theatrical experience. The performance group aims to bring this theatricality to people who have had little or no contact with capoeira before.

Drawing on the various strengths and experiences of its members, the performance group meets and explores different ways and methodologies that are useful for presenting capoeira to the wider public. We aim to involve the audience as much as possible so that they have as complete an experience of capoeira as is possible.

We have a strong commitment to displaying and explaining the fundamentals of capoeira and it is with this enthusiasm for sharing capoeira, with as many people a possible, that we bring traditional capoeira to theatres, bars, parks, festivals and the streets.

Thank you so so much for performing on Monday night and getting everyone up and moving and feeling the Brazilian vibe so much. You guys injected such energy and life into all those cold people – I am so grateful to you all for staying and performing so well and with such high spirits.” Lydia Stevens, ABC Charity, Project Manager
